UP AND COMING EVENTS

A space to work simply and truthfully on camera. Focusing on presence, connection and real behaviour.

There is a shared thread between Clive Russell and Sam Roccia’s approach; a belief that being present is always more powerful than performance.

Both actors are drawn to work that feels lived rather than demonstrated, valuing presence over presentation, listening over showing, and the courage to trust what is happening in the moment. Whether working on stage or screen, the focus is not on creating emotion but on allowing genuine human behaviour to emerge.

In this workshop we will explore acting from the inside out - using imagination, connection, impulse and observation to create work that is grounded, truthful and alive.

8 EFFORTS OF LABAN INTESNIVE WORKSHOP

Saturday 24 October - 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

Explore movement, energy, and physical intention to unlock behaviour and presence.

What is Laban?

Laban's eight efforts are a powerful movement tool used by actors to explore character, emotion and behaviour through the body.

By experimenting with different qualities of movement, actors can discover fresh character choices, break habitual patterns and unlock greater depth in their work. The Efforts offer a practical bridge between the physical and psychological life of a character, creating performances that feel truthful, specific and alive.

This workshop is exploratory, practical and fun. Through movement, improvisation and screen-based exercises, you'll investigate how the Eight Efforts can deepen characterisation, expand your creative range and bring greater authenticity to your screen acting.

CHEKHOV INTESNIVE WORKSHOP

Sunday 15 November - 10.30 am to 4.00 pm

Chekhov - using imagination, psychological gesture, and atmosphere to expand creative range

CONFIDENCE BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Truth in Action work alongside a variety of organisations and charities including Public Health England, Well Being Doncaster, Doncaster Stroke Group and the Compassion Project to name a few.

Workshop Formats

We offer a range of formats depending on the setting and depth of work required:

Half-day and full-day workshops

Bespoke provision to suit client needs

Sessions can be delivered as one-off experiences or as part of an ongoing programme.

Beyond Actor Training

Workshops have proven equally as valuable in non-acting environments; delivering confidence and communication-based workshops for organisations, including work with Public Health Doncaster, Well Being Doncaster, New College Doncaster, Doncaster Stroke Group and the Compassion Project to name a few supporting individuals to develop self-trust, presence, and emotional resilience.

Workshops are particularly effective for:

Building confidence

Improving communication

Developing self-awareness

Supporting individuals who feel disconnected or unsure in group environments.

The focus is always on creating a space where people feel grounded enough to engage, rather than being pushed to perform.
