SCREEN ACTING WORKSHOPS AND CONFIDENCE BUILDING WORKSHOPS
Workshops are designed to meet people where they are, whether that’s in a rehearsal room, a classroom, or a professional setting.
While rooted in actor training, the work extends far beyond performance. It develops presence, emotional awareness, communication, and the ability to respond truthfully under pressure.
Each session is structured around the needs of the students. No two workshops are delivered in the same way.
Approach & Techniques
Sam’s practice draws from a range of established techniques, including:
Laban — exploring movement, energy, and physical intention to unlock behaviour and presence.
Meisner — building truthful response, deep listening, and connection in the moment.
Chekhov — using imagination, psychological gesture, and atmosphere to expand creative range.
These approaches are not taught as rigid systems, but as tools — adapted and applied in a way that makes them accessible, practical, and relevant to the individual or group.
Workshop Formats
Sam offers a range of formats depending on the setting and depth of work required:
Half-day workshops
Full-day intensives
Screen acting intensives
Bespoke workshops tailored to specific outcomes
Sessions can be delivered as one-off experiences or as part of an ongoing programme.
Beyond Actor Training
While Sam’s background is in performance, this work is equally valuable in non-acting environments.
Sam delivers confidence and communication-based workshops for organisations, including work with Public Health Doncaster, supporting individuals to develop self-trust, presence, and emotional resilience.
These sessions are particularly effective for:
Building confidence
Improving communication
Developing self-awareness
Supporting individuals who feel disconnected or unsure in group environments.
The focus is always on creating a space where people feel grounded enough to engage, rather than being pushed to perform.
If you’re looking to bring this kind of work into your organisation, Sam can shape something that fits; practically and creatively.
